I'm a fifth-teen year old, currently enrolled at Thomas J. Corcoran High School, where I am a sophomore I currently take IB classes and wanted to start tutoring to pass the time and pick up a little extra cash. I'm drug free and have never tasted alcohol. I try to be patient and usually am. I'd prefer to work with children still in elementary or middle school, seeing as I haven't learned everything yet. I know the basic and more to just about everything eighth grade and below. I have 15 years of teaching experience with special needs students in a rural school district. All children are capable of learning. I believe that it is a developmental process. I also believe it is a scaffolding process in which we must build upon the skills that have been taught previously. If a student missed a skill, it is difficult to build upon it. Sometimes we must go back and re-teach that skill. Unfortunately that doesn't happen enough in our education system because there is not enough time or teachers for that to happen. But, if we can find where the student missed or misunderstood a skill and help them to achieve that skill, all the other skills we build upon then will come at a much easier rate for the student!
