A Little Bit About Me...

My diverse academic career has provided me with a greater knowledge and understanding of Mathematics than many of my peers. I have taken numerous courses in Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Exercise Science since I hold a B.S. in both Mathematics and Exercise Science. These classes have prepared me to teach a variety of complex topics.I have organized and taught many different classes in Mathematics and other subjects during my experiences with the Philadelphia Urban Seminar, and vacation bible schools. Growing up, I assisted my siblings with Math and Science while being home schooled and tutored friends in high school in Math.

I then went on to get my masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Bloomsburg University also. I am currently waiting to receive my Pennsylvania State teaching certificate, I will then be certified to teach Secondary Education (grades 7-12) Earth & Space Science. I usually spend the first session finding a child's weaknesses in the subject. After this, I will prepare a list of problems for the child to work on under my supervision. As he works I will let him make his mistakes and then help him correct them. This, in my opinion, is the greatest way to learn math. Practice makes perfect.
As I finished up my studies, started tutoring for lower level math majors. This included Calculus I,II,III, and statistics. As I moved on through classes, I began teaching more abstract classes in Mathematical theory. This experience has helped me able to explain a complex topic in simple terms.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught chemistry at the high school, community college, and university levels. I can also teach math at the high school level or lower. I have taught students of diverse races, ages genders and nationalities. I have taught during the day, evenings, and week-ends. Most of my working life has been about teaching. Actually, I am a trained teacher and hold the equivalent of an AA degree with emphasis on teaching chemistry and mathematics at the high school level. During my teacher training program, I won a distinction award for excellence in teaching. I am also trained to teach online chemistry at the college level, and have used it to teach two summer sessions.
