I have a non-teaching BA degree in English. I spent all 4 college years working on my college newspaper, and two years after graduation working for a local newspaper. My job responsibilities included covering news and local functions, and then writing news and feature stores. I also helped proof read submitted articles for publication. I have always had above average skills in spelling and grammar. In addition, although I have no formal degree, I spent over 20 years teaching private piano lessons on a one-on-one basis. After school, I would go to each students house and work with them for approximately 30-45 minutes.

I enjoy teaching and working with a variety of students. I do hold firmly that all young people can learn, just via different modalities. I thrill when students finally master a concept that they have been striving to grasp.
