I have a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and a minor in Psychology. I have had several years of experience working with the public. I enjoy working with children and helping them to succeed. I have the patience to help them achieve their goals. I have worked with adults helping them achieve their GED and placing them into training programs.
It is much easier to learn, if you know the instructor is working with you and for you. I think if the person is in a relaxed atmosphere and they know they are moving forward toward their goal, they will feel the rewards of their efforts. What I have learned working with students is that many do not learn in the same manner. I beleive in what is called top process learning. Given the student a concept and allowing them to explore the possibilities of how one arrives at such a concept has allowed deeper critical thinking and strategic planning. However, this method is not predominately taught in Georgia education system. I have found this method to be very effective. The other method is patience. Students who strugge with their academic learning usually are having other areas of difficulty which may be social learning. Having clinical training allows me to make a more accurate assessment.

During high school I was not only in the accelerated english program, I also took many Advanced Placement classes and was on the accelerated math track. I started tutoring in different after-school programs in New York City while in high school. I enjoyed it so much that even while in college, I continued tutoring and being a group counselor. I even had the opportunity to work with a one-on-one tutoring agency in which I traveled to students homes to help them privately. I have also worked as a literacy mentor for daycare children so that they would be ready for pre-school or kindergarten and not be left behind in reading skills.
