I was let go from a local company earlier this year. I have decided to make a career change and my goal is to teach math at the high school level. I have a year of college to be certified. I'm a full student at CCC, and will take the Pedagogy requirements at Elmira College. I intend to tutor and substitute teach this winter and spring during college. In industry, I was a Mechanical Engineer and spent time in management. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a MBA. I spent ten years in the Army and National Guard. After receiving a degree in Sociology from a New York State University, I went on to earn a provisional teaching certificate in Biology. I have twenty-one graduate hours in Reading and eleven graduate hours in Early Childhood Education. My previous work experience had me working with families where one adult was in need of a GED. I have tutored students from elementary through high school in every subject (except Foreign Languages) for over ten years. I have also worked with entering BOCES LPN students on math review and raised many of their entry level grades twenty points.
