As an educator in the school district I have multiple areas of experience that include academics in math, science and reading. I also have experience in dealing with multiple levels of reading levels that are conducive to cognitive, behavioral, or emotional problems that prevent optimal learning to occur and have utilized mant techniques to help students achieve their individual goals. Ihave taught in Minnesota, Texas and South Korea. I have earned a Bachelor of Science in English Language Arts Secondary Education, and I am currently working on my MA in TESOL. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is, for the most part, non-directive. I think it is important to try to have students answer their own questions. When this does not work, I do not just tell the student what goes where or why this doesn't work, I give reasons and have them tell me these same reasons the next time we come across something that doesn't work.
At SCSU, I work as a writing consultant at the Writing Center on campus. With students, I help to make them better writers by helping answer questions, presenting questions, working through the brainstorming and paper-writing process, and helping with formatting. As well, I have helped to coordinate our second satellite location, which entails working with people on their schedules, managing conflicts of schedule, and serving as a head of the second location.
