A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from one of the top ranked schools in the nation for education, Miami University (Ohio). I earned my bachelor's degree there. I have been teaching children that have learning disabilities for ten years. I also have worked with children that have severe emotional problems. I will be graduating from Grand Canyon University in December with my master's degree in special education. For the past few years I have been tutoring an eighth grader in grammar and poetry.
I love helping children learn new things. I get so excited when I see the "light bulb" go off. I love to find different ways to teach children to learn old things. I am a very patient and happy person by nature. Consistency is what works with children. I am very consistent and like to see children succeed. I try a variety of approaches to see what works with each student. If you have 25 students in a class, you can have 25 different learning styles. I believe a lot in hands-on and learning from others. Questions are always welcome. I continually do course work to keep up on new approaches. Being teachable is key. I have seen students I work with have success. These students range from the gifted to the so-called difficult child. I love all types and really get a joy out of seeing them succeed.
