I have experience working with learners of all ages. My earliest classroom experiences while studying at Kent State were with Kindergarten and 1st Grade classes, and I have substituted in classrooms all the way up through high school. My passion is sharing my knowledge with others. I studied at Kent State in Kent, Ohio. While at Kent I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, and a minor in English with extensive course work in business. Following undergraduate study, I ventured on to complete a Master of Arts in Physical Education. My concentration was Therapeutic Recreation with a focus in gerontology. I taught a class during my graduate assistanceship and acted as a teaching assistant to three professors.
Me teaching style is similar to my leadership style, democratic. I like to have students explain what they are thinking when approaching a problem. This way, it is possible to determine where the breakdown may be. Examples, definitions, and sometimes taking a step back can make a significant difference when attempting to move forward. A strong base is vital.

I have taught for 30 Years. The first 9 years at Cleveland Central Catholic, mostly traditional Social Studies classes with a few honors level. Since 1989 I have been at Fairview HS, teaching At-risk and regular classes in Social Studies; Government, World History and American History.
