For the past five years I have been a substitute teacher for MSAD 58. Grade levels I have experience with include K through 12. While I have subbed in all subjects, I really enjoy working with secondary level students in mathematics. A few years ago I filled in for a high school teacher for six weeks. I even got to plan lessons and grade work. I really enjoyed the time I spent with these students helping them pass their Algebra Competency exams. Because I have substituted at all grade levels and with all ability levels, I know how different each and every student learns. As a recent college graduate, I understand the demands and expectations of high level educational achievement. I earned two bachelor degrees from the University of Maine, BS in Secondary Education in Mathematics and BA in Mathematics, and I feel confident that education has prepared me to teach a wide variety of mathematical disciplines. I did a 4 year program to get a certificate in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. I also have been substitute teaching for Waterville Public Schools for a year and a half.
