Computer Programming is one of my top subjects! Recipient of a bachelors degree in Computer Science for Georgia Regents University. Can tutor in basic programming concepts and I am proficient in front-end development (html, css, javascript, angular.js, jquery, bootstrap), and object oriented programming languages (.net, java).

The teaching style I use is completely dependent on the particular student being taught. My objective is to teach an individual not only the material, but how they best learn so that they can teach themselves. I enjoy using applicable references that are relevant so that the concepts would be more easily grasped. I believe a personalized approach works best. I have earned a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics from Georgia Regents University. During my tenure at GRU, I have tutored students in Basic Math, College Algebra, Calculus, Programming Concepts, Physics, and Differential Equations.

A Little Bit About Me...

It is my belief that every person learns differently. Students learn best by different methods and learn at different methods. I find that the best way to tech a student, especially in a one on one environment is to find how the individual best learns and use that, rather than trying to teach by any already formulated method.
As an engineering graduate from Georgia Tech, I have a high level of skill in mathematics, from algebra to calculus and differential equations, and in sciences, especially physics. I attended the college of The Virgin Islands (presently University of the USVI) and graduated with a Bsc in Biology in 1986. While in college I became captivated with computers and programming. Since I already had a keen interest in electronics, I pursue job opportunities that were computer related after I graduated. As a result all my jobs were of a technical nature. My love for the Sciences has never diminished and I have kept up with Math and Science subjects to stay in tune. As a matter of fact I pass my GACE Biology I and II exams in 2007 even though I was fixing ATM for a living. If ask to, I am sure I can teach Algebra and trigonometry. I love being around and teaching kids. I am constantly around kids now. I am a single parent of a 10 year old dughter, and i am very into her school. First off i don't believe that a kid is dumb or doesn't know how to do anything. Children only know what we teach them. So if a child doesnt know how to do something it is a reflection on the teaching that he/she has had. I have never had a kids come to me and leave without learing more than they knew before they got to me. I believe in practice makes perfect, especially in math. To be great at math calls for repitition. The more you do the better you will get at it. I believe in real life examples, not in adult situations but something the child can relate to to help them better understand. I am very patient with a child when it comes to learning. Some children learn differently than other children. Sometimes I would take each problem one step at a time. If needed, I would spend more time with a child that needs more help with a problem.
