I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. In addition, after school hours were spent with two students taking AP Biology classes. Both students achieved a 4 or higher on their placement exams. I am currently working at Challenger 7 Elementary School as the only Guidance Counselor. I have created a study group club with students that need study skills, organizational skills or assistance getting their work done! I have been employed as a substitute teacher and mental health counselor in the past. I enjoy working with students because a lot of their stress is due to frustration of not knowing a concept.
