I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. In addition, after school hours were spent with two students taking AP Biology classes. Both students achieved a 4 or higher on their placement exams. Very hands on type of person. I am the type of person that needs visual reminders to get my work done. I know that everyone learns in different capacities so I try to incorporate that into my teaching style. I work on identifying the students learning style and then we go from there.
I am currently working at Challenger 7 Elementary School as the only Guidance Counselor. I have created a study group club with students that need study skills, organizational skills or assistance getting their work done!
