My style involves encouraging the effort and achievement and discouraging ornery and apathetic attitudes. With every subject I feel that a student has a specific way of approaching it, especially with science. Some students are visual learners. Some students need verbal instruction. Some students need to create in order to really grasp the concepts. Therefore, when I assist students I make sure that I can provide all of those aspects of learning because sometimes the text book does not always work. My experience includes 14.5 years as a mom tutoring my own children, two semesters of field observation in Elementary School and High School Math, and AAS degree in Accounting from DMACC in 2002, and currently earning (2011) my BS degree in Elementary Education with a Math endorsement at Simpson College.
