My comments on tutoring Elementary Science : Certified Elementary Teacher

I have worked for the past 13 years in accounting and management positions. I started in the Master of Education in the Teaching Arts at Mississippi College this past January and recieved by Class A Teacher's License in June of this year. I am certified to teach grades 4-8 in all four of the major subjects: math, science, social studies and language. I am also certified to teach grades 7-12 in the social studies area: US History, government, geography, and world history. I am also highly qualified to teach accounting and business because of the number of accounting and business classes that I have taken.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been driven to achieve a high level of excellence in education. I have earned two bachelor degrees in both Chemistry and German, which enabled me to gain an understanding of math and science from the reading of the original scientific papers in German;a better understanding of English(a Germanic language)also resulted. Working as an analytical chemist for the federal government for over 25 years caused me to improve my writing and English skills as a substitute teacher for over 12 years I feel I have gained enormous experience in working with all types and ages of children. I am a very patient person, and patience is always a necessity when you are teaching a child and helping him/her to understand anything. I am the oldest of four children and I have always had to help them with homework growing up so I know ways to keep their attention on their studies. I have learned that children have to visualize, and see what is happening in order to get a complete understanding. Also, it has to be in a form where it is fun to learn by using charts and different types of ways to display information.
Throughout my matriculation at Tougaloo College, we have always been taught to be critical thinkers and to be professional. I have achieved a BS in Biology, and in that major I focus mainly on biology, chemistry, and some math.
