A Little Bit About Me...

My dominant teaching style is connecting with students on a personal level. During my time as a mentor at Marina Del Rey, I enjoyed developing a relationship with my mentee inside and outside of the classroom, and I truly believe this helped him excel. I like to take a firm, but fun approach to tutoring, and I always challenge my students to try their hardest to complete a problem and not automatically defer to receiving help from the tutor. A Little Bit About Me...

I started teaching Sunday School when I was in Junior High. I taught a little boy in my class how to read and it was the most rewarding experience I have ever encountered. As aforementioned, throughout high school, I began tutoring students in Math, English, Spanish, Science, and History. I tutored one 6th grade student who was ADHD. He had several tutors before me, but none had the patience to work with him. I started tutoring him and fell in love with this particular child. It was hard at first because everything distracted him, but I tried different approaches until he finally began to understand the material. A Little Bit About Me...

During my last four years I have been given several opportunities to interact and educate students of all ages. Working with the Upward Bound Program I tutored high school students in various subjects. As a varsity basketball player I was frequently in charge of teaching the sport's fundamental skills necessary to younger children. While this kind of education differs from one received in the classroom, I believe that the objective is similar in that students are being taught essential elements of a subject. My bachelors degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry give me adequate knowledge on the material and my grammatical skills have been shaped by the numerous research papers and reports I have written.
