I am a certified high school teacher with over six years of experience teaching and tutoring in the states as well as abroad. I started college full time at the age of 16 and graduated with an associate and two bachelor degrees before my 20th birthday. I am currently completing a master degree and have maintained a 4.0 grade point average through all 6 years of college. I spent a year living in Mexico and six months in Spain and now speak Spanish fluently. I believe that people learn in different fashions. For example, I feel that some concepts may be better explained with tangible objects while other concepts are learned better when questioned and discussed. By exploring the different ways of learning we can find what works best for that individual and use that method as a tool for their understanding. I worked as a camp counselor for 3 summers, and understand that everyone has different learning styles. Personally, I am a visual learner, and I understand that when teaching lessons it is important to incorporate all aspects of learning: touch, sound, visuals, etc. I am energetic and creative and would rather do hands-on activities to drive the lesson home than to sit and memorize lists forever.
