I think that a good educator is the key to success in a child's life. I can still remember my second grade teacher (Ms. Golf), she made learning fun and seemed like everyday was an adventure in her class. Sadly, not all teachers are like that. I do believe that all children learn in different ways. I think that if a child is given a chance and shown some patience, there isn't anything they can't acheive. Children should be guided in learning. They have short attention spans and I think learning should be made fun in order to hold their attention. I want to make a difference in a child's life, like Ms. Golf made in mine.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and helping other students understand difficult material. I love to use diagrams and other visual teaching tools. Often I relate biology to everyday life situations to help students understand better. Every student learns differently, but the material can be understood by every student.
As a graduate student, I have successfully tutored a number of undergraduate students. I received my BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry. My passion since I was 5 years old has always been teaching. I used to play teacher with my sisters and give themm stickers for job well done. I feel students will respect you and appreciate you if you relate to them. Not necessarily reduce yourself to their level but treat them like young adults. There have been many teachers throughout my career as a student that have greatly motivated me to succeed and I genuinely want to do the same for others.
As a Fayetteville State University undergraduate, I did a lot of volunteer work with high school student. I also worked in the school's computer lab assisting students with classwork and homework. I have tutored students for the SATs. My specific field is English but I can also tutor in Spanish. I have an extensive amount of knowledge in grammar and composition as well as anything in the literature field.
