My comments on tutoring Drawing : My undergraduate degree is in Visual Arts.

My teaching philosophy starts out with essentialism which believes in a strong core curriculum and high academic standards. I believe it is important to have a strong foundation on which to build upon. After ensuring a strong foundation I tend to lean more towards progressivism. I believe students should be taught what is relevant today while becoming more independent learners, by utilizing problem solving skills and critical thinking. I teach the foundation and build upon that based upon what is relevant in a particular field today. I also include student-centered teaching strategies. I believe in order to learn a student must have base knowledge of a subject that leads into hands on assignments which require mastery of a subject. Math- teaching a child how/why/where the steps to solving a problem came from originally and taking past knowledge together. Building a students confidence then showing the student simpler/easier way of solving. Other- answering all the questions a student has and making sure the understand why it's important/its impact
High school senior at east Hamilton High with 3.8 GPA. Ap world history, Ap US history, Ap studio art, Honors Classes including English, Algebra 1 and 2, geometry, biology, have all been taken and passed with an A. I went to TN governors school for the arts for visual art. I have taught first graders and have tutored elementary students from 3rd-5th in my neighborhood.
