My comments on tutoring Genetics : Genetics was one of my favorite classes as an undergraduate biochemistry major and is an area I am considering attending graduate school to study.

I spent the last year teaching English in China. I have experience teaching ESOL, and am experienced dealing learners of English of a second language. I studied Chinese during my stint there and am willing and able to tutor beginning students of the Chinese language who want to develop functional skills in Mandarin for career or personal development. I was an A-student during my time in college and often was the leader of study groups and offered personal tutoring to students struggling in my biblical Hebrew class. I served as a teacher's assistant for General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. I worked in a biochemistry lab for one summer during my undergraduate career.

My undergraduate college degree is a B.S. in Agricultural Education. I believe in inquiry based learning, or teaching any subject by incorporating the student's natural curiosity and drawing connections to their interests. I don't taking a long time to teach a student how to approach a single problem or concept and foster their understanding of the material so that they will understand how to approach the problem on their own.
