A Little Bit About Me...

I have helped my fellow students learn for nearly as long as I've been learning, myself. While attending Community College, I worked as a Peer Tutor in a wide range of subjects. While attending University, I worked as a General Subject Tutor and as a Math Tutor. I studied abroad in South Korea for one year, during which time I tutored Korean students in English and worked as a Classroom Aide and Assistant Teacher in several private schools. A Little Bit About Me...

I have received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in English. I have worked for several years as an electrical engineer. One of my responsibilities as an engineer was to train recent college graduates. I wrote and taught new employees the basics of engineering. I would assist them on their first few projects.
I like teaching by doing. I believe it helps the student when they can see what they are learning put into use. I am very patient and do no mind repeating things or explaining them in another way that the student understands. In my Spanish classes, I would often lead study groups of several students.

A Little Bit About Me...

Being overwhelmed with information that is just not making sense can be frustrating and most teachers don't have the time to give individual attention to each student. Ever student has different needs and I can help them focus on areas they doesn't understand as well as others. I can also show students that studying can be fun.

While attending and completing four years of Education courses at a well respected institution I was focused and driven to complete the curriculum and focus on creative lesson planning. Maintaining a GPA of 3.6 in Education courses while participating in four years of collegiate sports really polished my ability to multi-task. Although I have recently graduated with a degree in business, I am interested in pursuing a career involving people. My previous employment was a sales position that was very customer-oriented. I also have 3 years of experience helping children by teaching swimming lessons. Assisting my 15-year-old sister with her school work is also a regular activity.
