I graduated high school in 2013 and became a student at Adams State University in the fall of 2013. I then moved to Georgia and I am currently working through my application process to Columbus State University. I did a lot of volunteer work during high school and was involved in many things, ranging from two years in ROTC to becoming a Student Ambassador for the "People to People" program. I am a very hard worker and proven to be very resourceful. I love helping other people unlock their full potential because I want to see them succeed in life. There are so many talents to discover in a person and I want to help them discover what those talents are.
My teaching style depends on the student, but I like to use demonstrations, work through a problem instead of giving a problem, and I use visual learning methods (pictures and examples)

My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : I am well experienced with reading ,and enabling comprehension. During my summer volunteer hours I was able to work with all types off students.So I took in a great amount of general information of how to treat different cases of comprehension and reading disabilities. I scored 94/99 on my recent compose test .

Patients is my number 1 key all kids do not learn at the same pace.When I work with a child I learn there speed so that they don't feel pushed or rushed ,and I work (sometimes off duty) to figure out different exercisers to improve there speed and there school work performance.
I have volunteered over 80 hours combined from the summers of 2011-2012.I've worked with a diverse amount of students ages varying.Although I do mainly focusing on K-1 ,I am capable of helping any elementary student become successful and improve there selves in what ever it is that there struggling in. I am patient,because I know how it feels to have a disorder not being able to learn at the same pace.I have been in your child's shoes before so usually kids with disorders connect with me quicker then others .

My philosophy of discipline is simple: observe, take data and find the function of the behavior. When a student misbehaves in class there is an underlying reason. Every behavior has a function. The function can be to gain access to an item or person, to avoid doing the work or aggressive behaviors if they do not understand the assignment completely, medicine or personal affects (hungry, sleepy or thirsty). I also believe in “brain breaks”. My students take a break every hour to get up, walk around, listen to music and get the wiggles out. I worked for 12 years as a Special Education teacher in the public school system, teaching students with ADD, learning disabilities, autism, Aspergers, emotional and behavior disorders, and mild intellectual disabilities in a resource room and inclusion setting.
