My goal is to help the student by modeling and then using encouragement and self-esteem building so that the student will become more confident. All children can learn and be successful when given instructional guidance that is geared toward the individual and encouragement to try their best. I believe in a very hands on teaching style. Learning form experience is the best way to learn. Especially in visual arts, the more you dive into a medium the better versed you can become in it. I also believe that a strong knowledge in basic fundamentals can go a long way. so that is emphasized often. I have a Bachelor's degree in Art and Design and have used my degree in the fields of Photography and Graphic Design. I am currently getting my teaching certificate for Art Education K-12 so that I will be able to pass my passion of Art on to others. In my spare time I enjoy painting along with some figure drawing. With a BS in Physics and a Masters in Business I greatly enjoy the challenge of academics. I have been a classroom teacher for over 6 years and have tutored students from Pre-K through college age in areas of English and math. I enjoy seeing my students excel.
