Hands on- creative-student centered learning!

I am a certified teacher. I have taught first grade and I am currently teaching second grade. I have 2 years experience as a tutor for students in elementary school and also high school. Creating Confident Students via Creative Learning

I like to use hands on and/or creative teaching methods when possible. I believe that practice and persistence makes perfect. I would say that my teaching style is "outside of the box". I use this effective method when possible, due to the fact that typically students have tried more standardized methods and have not been able to learn from them; therefore they seek tutoring.

A total learning experience

I believe every student can learn, and as a result incorporate a variety of learning techniques to address a variety of learning styles. My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I graduated with a BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing.

I served as a writing tutor to my peers while I was in college. I did this for three years and it seemed to help the students a great deal. This position was accompanied by training provided by one of my professors at Montreat College. The training lasted a full semester. I have also been tutoring a 14 year-old boy in reading comprehension for the past year. He has greatly improved since we started last summer in the speed of his reading, interest in what he is reading, and better comprehension as a whole.
