I like to use the hands on approach. I find out what the weaknesses are of my students and address the topics by giving a general review. I present a problem for them to work out. After a few minutes, I ask them what they think is the best way to approach the problem. If they cannot come up with one, I then guide them through the appropriate thinking pattern in order for them to solve the problem. For me repetition of different related problems is the key to success.

I started around 2005 tutoring for the departments of chemistry and math in Queensborough Community College, from the basic levels in organic chemistry 2 and calculus. I earned my Associate degree in science from Queensborough Community College and finished my Bachelor Degree in Stonybrook University. At Stonybrook University also tutor chemistry and math. During the summer 2006, I had the entire department of chemistry tutoring under my guide. My experience comes from teaching my own classes and from interacting with my students.
My style is open to discussion. I like to ask questions to the student about the knowledge they have and based on that, apply my knowledge to build a strong base to be used as a core to solve more problems. Allowing the student to make mistakes and then learn from them. Allow the student to show me not only the correct answer but also to be able to explain how they came to that answer. Preaching to a student and doing the problem for them and hoping that they can then figure out future problems of the same type is in my opinion a subpar teaching style.
Have been tutoring both high school and college students in mathematics for 13 years. I have tutored students in algebra, geometry, precalculus, calculus, and statistics.
