A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored various students ranging from elementary, junior high to college undergraduates in Italian (my mother tongue) and French. I am very passionate about the student's interest in learning another language (I speak 4 languages) and honor their interest by offering a really caring approach: learning a foreign language widens perspectives and knowledge. I tutored privately in French for many years and took my junior year of college in France. I then took my Masters Degree in Paris, France. I lived & worked in France for 5 years. I worked for Mack Trucks (then owned by Renault in France)for the French management and then Swedish management when Mack was bought by Volvo. There I taught corporate classes in French (3 levels). I also designed & managed a program called "Le Grand Echange", an exchange program for children of employees of both Mack and Renault. I also taught beginning French in the evenings at Muhlenberg College. Since, I have traveled abroad and have learned 2 new languages. I have tutored many private students in French, also Spanish, Italian and Swedish.

I like to adapt my style to the student's personality and learning style. Some students learn best through visual methods, some auditory and some prefer experiential learning. While textbooks often provide a good foundation, I like to use "real world" teaching if possible. For example, I might have a student act out a situation (renting a car, for example) that he or she may encounter in real life. I am also very patient and this is a key factor for good tutoring.
