My comments on tutoring American History : I can help with reading for comprehension and understanding the facts and the historical frameworks underlying American History.

I assess the student's level of mastery by listening to parents, communicating with the student (in whatever appropriate way needed) and then doing some basic testing. Once the student is assessed, I design a learning environment and activities that coincide with the student's specific strengths, while adding some elements of challenge. I tend to work in a very focused way for 10-15 minutes, and then add in tactile activities (like Bannana Grams for example) for 10 minutes or so, in order to maintain the student's attention. Children and youth who are struggling to read and write get patient assistance to learn the words correctly. I passed my high school years with A's and B's and have also been passing my university/college classes with the same. American History is one of my top subjects! This has to be my favorite subject. I have studied everything I can about the forming of America to modern ideas.

As of 2012 I am going to be a Junior in Highschool. I have passed all my classes with a C+ or higher and I am able to teach younger children great. I can relate to the kids having issues with school education because when I was younger it took alot for me to strive but I found that motivation and improved since then.

Experienced Educator Available To Tutor

I taught high school English for three years. My students ranged from far below basic to advanced. My students consistently showed improvement in their standardized test scores and over 95% of my students passed the course. Also, Over 95% of my sophomore passed the CAHSEE. In addition to my high school experience, I have been tutoring adult learners for the past three years, becoming the program manager two years ago.
