I am kind of new to teaching. I have taught my little brother everything he knows, and I've been told I have a really good way of teaching. Younger students catch on very quickly to what it is I am teaching. If they don't catch on quick, then no problem. I'm very patient and never give up until a student understands the concept. A Little Bit About Me...

When I teach I also learn from my students. I am open to ideas and creativity. I am patient and I believe a child should never be forced to learn. Learning should be exciting and it is the right of a student to progress at his or her own pace.
I graduated with a degree in English while devoting time teaching kids and even adults martial arts. Also, I have tutored many of my younger cousins during their elementary school years and currently middle school as well. I have published two poetry books and am planning on writing a third book. My first aim when I am working with students is to establish a rapport - being a college student always helps. I am patient in the classroom and try my best to tackle problems/questions from new angles if students don't seem to understand; I have spent much time working with non-native English speakers, which has enabled me to develop an intuitive sense of where a particular misunderstanding might originate. A Little Bit About Me...

All childern have the capacity to excel. It requires discovering the ways a student learns best (visual,auditory etc.) and applying that to teaching techniques with the expectation of success. I teach every lesson with a verbal, a visual, and written instruction so a student has every opportunity to retain knowledge and instruction. I love teaching and talking about grammar and literature and can pass that same love on to students as I have in the past.
While earning my degree I worked as a pre-school teacher creating lesson plans and activites that were age appropriate. I have two years experience in public school teaching English for grades 9-12, and one year experience teaching journalism, art, yearbook and English in a private school.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is very unique. I start off by just getting to know the student and having them get to know and trust me. I then build on that trust factor while helping the students with their homework. I connect well with students and they trust me. In the end, it seems to be the best way the students I work with learn and finish their work. Learning should be fun and not boring. It should be interactive and not just book work.
