I have worked in ICC's mathlab since fall 2008, tutoring all kinds of math ranging from elementary Algebra and Geometry to Calculus, though I do not do statistics. I can also tutor Discrete Math, a subject about logic, math puzzles, algorithms and computational concepts. I am an active member of the Association of Mathematics Engineering and Science Students, a club that promotes group work and student tutoring. I grew up in China and lived there for 16 years before I came to US for college education. I can speak, read and write Chinese fluently. I am a student that has a drive of excellence. I graduated from Northern Ill. Univ in 2010, as cum laude. I hold a B.S. in BioChemistry. I have experience as a tutor, which I obtained while as a student at NIU. I would tutor other students with in the chemistry, math, and biology departments. I love teaching. I us a guiding method of teaching. Because I believe that students learn the most when they do the work themselves, but sometimes they need someone there to motivate them or to guide them in the right direction. I have grown up in an education oriented household with both parents as teachers (Dad Chemistry and Mom English). Since earing my degree in CIS I have had 10 years of industry experience as well as having worked as a substitute teacher in both the Galesburg (CUSD #205, 200-2001) and Peoria (District 150,2007-Present) School Districts. I believe everyone has their own aptitude for learning and will endeavor to discover each childs unique style for learning to help them strive to do their best in each endeavor they apply themselves to. I have 25 years experience in the civil engineering field, specifically the water resources area.
