I have currently finished 2nd-year Electronic and Computer Engineering at the University of Limerick, Ireland. I love working with people and helping them in their studies and Musical interests. I have given classes on maths and physics before for high school and college-level students. These are topics I am really interested in and I want to help kids understand these topics better and develop a passion for it. I am also very interested in playing the keyboard. My comments on tutoring Trigonometry : Not a lot of people seem to care about what trigonometry actually means. First thing they have in mind is sine, cosine and tangent with theta tagged on them. Trigonometry comes from combination of Greek word "trigon" meaning triangle and "metron" meaning measure. Therefore, trigonometry is the measure of triangle regarding its sides, height, angle and areas. So where do other geometric figures come then? We still see sines, cosines and tangents, right? Well, every geometric figure at a minute level can be thought of as a triangle and thus those sines, cosines and tangents. Trigonometry deals with various identical relationships of sides and angles, henceforth.

I involve students a lot during the learning period. I consistently ask them questions about the topic and let them think for a while. I give them as much information as possible so that they do not miss any information while solving problems. I make students write. That is how they learn. I consistently give students concepts and them demonstrate with sample questions.

My Motto: Every Child Deseves To Succeed!

I first began tutoring when I was attending University of Michigan. It gave me great pleasure to help others succeed. After graduating I held many prestigous positions but none captured my passion as much as tutoring. Eventually my passion got the best of me and I began tutoring elementary, middle school, and high school students. For the past 5 years I have been professionally tutoring elementary school through freshman college students. I partner with local elementary - high schools: E.W. West Elementary, Landmark Academy,Langston High School, and Mills Springs Academy. I also work with Graduation Counselors to prepare their students to take ACT, ASVAB, and SAT tests. My students say that I make learning easy to understand. I believe every student has the potential to suceed. The key to their success is to teach by using the method in which they learn. I tutor Algebra, Geometry, Trigon ... read more

Never stop learning!

I truly believe the strength of my teaching/ tutoring style is my devout compassion. I am able to exemplify extreme focus, patience, motivation and due diligence because I ultimately care about the success of the students I tutor. My initial step in the tutoring process is to perform a thorough analysis of the students comprehension of the subject. Once I'm aware what the student understands and don't understand a unique and proper game plan is developed to reach a confident grasp of course material.
I grasped the importance of education at a very young age and excelled throughout school. Early in my youth I also developed a sincere passion for helping fellow classmates who I saw were having difficulties comprehending course material. I had a knack for connecting with students, identifying the point of confusion, and creating different avenues to reach full comprehension of a su ... read more

Focused Math Tutor with dedication and direction

I am a very logical and result oriented person. If you are interested in seeing better results from the scores, tests and believe in making rapid change in your thought process, you may want to try me. I believe learning should be fun and not all work. Not all answers will be shortcuts that would involve lot of memorizing, but very systematic and logical way of approaching a problem for the student to gain interest and at the same time be able to address any problem out of the box. I do understand that not all students are the same and each one of them would require different teaching model to reach eventually to the same high levels. I have given several exams in and out of the country and there are definite tips that can help the student to achieve better results with the same knowledge level. I have scored over 95 percentiles in almost all the exams that I gave, some times wit ... read more

My comments on tutoring Trigonometry : Started teaching Trigonometry when I was 20 yrs old in the classroom!

I use the Inquiry Method to teach/tutor my students. My method also includes use of the internet and online sessions, in Real Time. My students log into my virtual classroom. I may upload materials, classwork, or personal assignments to reinforce the concept. I accept long term assignments, with the minimum of 8 weeks, at least twice a week - days to be determined, because mathematics is a foundation process not just an answer! I prepare my students for a "Feel Good Experience" with Mathematics! *A printer, scanner, and copier, All In One is recommended and inexpensive, to gain maximum proficiency!

Trigonometry is one of my top subjects! I am fully certified to teach this subject.

Math is a passion of mine that I would like to share with each of you. After attending the University of Georgia and majoring in Mathematics Education, I became a high school math teacher at Northview HS in Johns Creek, GA. During college, I tutored fellow peers in the college level math classes, including calculus, pre-calculus, and linear algebra. Throughout the school year (at Northview), I had experience tutoring an 8th grade student to prepare for the SSAT (entry test for private high schools). I have taken almost any math class through high school and college that you can think of, so I am pleased to help with everything I can! Currently, I am teaching Coordinate Algebra and Advanced Algebra, but I am certified to teach any mathematics 6th-12th grade. Knowing that this subject does not come easily to everyone, I use my passion to find a way to break down a subject to meet the n ... read more

My comments on tutoring Trigonometry : While I have not taught a formal course in trigonometry, I have, in the course of tutoring many students, have developed the knowledge of how to present the subject to students and help them learn the various identities and derivations, along with the associated problem-solving techniques. I also teach students structured methods of studying and solving problems.

I have taught at three universities (The University of Michigan, Henry Ford Community College, and Lawrence Technological University) and tutored formally at two (Henry Ford Community College and Georgia Perimeter College). I have also tutored as an independent tutor, giving me a career of 18 years as an educator. I have also maintained a career as a computer software developer, doing contract work in several cities in the United States, as well as Torino, Italy, and Durban, South Africa. In addition to the courses shown in my profile, I have taught various computer programming languages, including C, FORTRAN, C++, PL/I,and COBOL.
As a teacher and tutor, I focus on developing conceptual knowledge (rather than memorization), and structured study methods, problem-solving techniques, and test-taking skills, including post-test analyses of mistakes as a learning tool. I encourage th ... read more
