After graduating college in California, I returned to Portland to continue my education in mathematics at Portland State University. I began tutoring mathematics to high school students privately. My students found incredible success. Several went from C students to A students in all of their classes, not only math classes. It seems once their confidence shot up in math, it did so in the other classes as well. Eventually my reputation spread, and I started tutoring almost 30 hours a week, and even more during finals. I enjoy teaching. Working with a student one-to-one or even in small groups allows a student to have their individual needs met. Tutoring has the advantage of catching the student where they are struggling to comprehend. I am patient, creative, and prefer to model examples for my students.
