A Little Bit About Me...

As one who used to be a driving instructor in Cincinnati, Ohio. I will bring both both classroom teaching experience and teaching while driving experience with me . For several summers I was a camp counselor for children in the age range of first graders (day camp) through fourth grade(sleepover camp.) I am a very recent graduate of Penn State where academics are a main focus. I have always been fascinated by numbers and how the analysis of numbers can be used in nearly everything we do. I have a MBA from a top 20 program that has helped me further develop my mathematical skills in statistics and calculus. I have helped tutor children in various after-school volunteer programs and was a paid tutor while in undergrad and grad school. While the tutoring ran the gamut, I tended to focus on math (algebra, stats), finance/accounting and writing (typically logical essays not creative writing).

While living in Japan, I taught English to the Japanese nationals and was a teacher's aide in the Department of Defense Dependent's Schools in the special needs department. I worked directly with middle school children who had ADD, ADHD as well as other physical handicaps including Cerebral Palsy. I have 3 children that I have had to help with their homework and projects throughout the years. I enjoy working with children and believe education is the key to developing responsible adults.
I believe the best way to teach is to relate the subject to the children.
