I believe that there are several learning modalities. In response to this, I use an experimental approach to teaching. This enables the student to fully engage in the material in a way that allows them to understand and apply the information. I also find it necessary to create a learning environment that is relaxed, non-stressful and creative. Rather than tell the student the answer, I find a way to allow the student to discover the answer him or herself. One way how I do this is by asking the pupil smaller leading questions in order to put the pieces of the bigger picture together. I firmly believe that if the student derives the answer by himself or herself, he or she will have a greater understanding of the solution than if they were simply told the answer.
