My comments on tutoring Poetry : Poetry is all part of learning the ground rules of Literature. Its is always included in my studies, such as Edgar Allen Poe and Annabelle Lee and other classic stories.

I believe that the youth are in dire need of adults that have a heart to teach. As a teacher of your child, I want to be able to spend that time as productive as possible. I believe in one on one with a child as the best possible way of learning. In our fast pace world, some students need to have that private time to learn and be influenced through just one adult; that one adult could make all the difference in a child's life. I also believe in the power of words. What we say from our heart can be heard through the spirit of a child. I pledge to choose my words carefully. I will strive to make a difference in your child's education and make it a learning experience that is blessed.

I believe everyone has the chance to succeed if they are given the right opportunity. I believe everyone learns differently and therefore catering to one's individual needs is important. A Little Bit About Me...

I currently am achieving my BA in a double major in English Literature and Creative Writing. However, I did previously study Secondary Education and English at a former institution. Through both discourses, Education and English, I am both strong in content and method. I have three years of experience as a tutor and teacher assistant in the areas of Math, English, and Science. I have worked with a variety of ages and levels of learners; from high school to infants. And have even acquired my infant and toddler as well as child care assistant teacher certification.

A Little Bit About Me...

From my tutoring experiences last year, my teaching style would best be described as very proactive. Many of the students were extremely frustrated by the concepts that they did not understand. This created an apathetic attitude towards the subject. Due to the lack of interest that I observed, I decided to go through problem by problem with the students. I talked them through each problem, and asked the students questions, but required them to calculate the answer. As we practiced and practiced, the students began to use the techniques that I taught them to calculate the answers on their own.
I am a second year UW Madison student pursuing a math degree. I have completed Calculus 1, Calculus 222, Calculus 234, Calculus 3 based engineering statistics, and Actuarial Science (a class designed to prepare actuarial students for the P exam).
