I have 13 years of classroom teaching experience. I have taught in various elementary setting including urban, suburban, and rural populations. I have taught in very large classrooms with 31 students in them and very small classrooms with only 3 students in them. In addition to teaching in the classroom I have also lead professional development on writing, how to disaggregate standardized assessments, student engagement, and on the reading comprehension strategies.

I believe that learning can be fun and creative, which is why my approach to teaching often involves the use of visuals and hands on projects to reinforce subject matter. Having been a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader for almost 20 years, I hold a special place in my heart for children and teenagers. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay with a degree in Elementary Education. Starting in high school I have been working with children in one way or another. I was a mentor to elementary students while in high school, where I helped with their homework as well as their language skills. While in college I tutored at an area middle school in all subjects that the students needed help with. During my student teaching, I spent the summer in Thailand teaching.
