I earned my bachelor degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth in Teaching Secondary Mathematics and Secondary Earth and Space Science in 2001. Since that time, I have been teaching secondary classes at the same school which include: Earth science, astronomy, geology, transition mathematics, algebra I, algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and computer applications. I earned my Master of Science in Science Education from Montana State University in 2008. My thesis was on the effects of teaching through the multiple intelligences by incorporating art with the sciences. A Little Bit About Me...

As the manager and head chemist of a solid fuels testing laboratory I have many years of experience training both high school and college interns. I acquired a Bachelors of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry from the University of MN, Duluth. I also have a broad math and physics background, and have a great enthusiasm for both.
I would very much like to enter the teaching world so that I might share the knowledge that I have acquired over the years. When tutoring I usually ask prompting questions to assist the person in working through a problem. By building off of the skills the student already has it helps them better understand the process. If a student is learning new material or does not understand the way something was explained I will try to come up with an alternative method. I will go through an example with them step by step ensuring that they understand what happens along the way. I am three semesters away from completing two degrees, BS Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as well as BS Chemistry, at the University of Minnesota Duluth. I have a solid background in mathematics as well as biology and chemistry. I tutored math, pre-algebra through first semester calculus, at Lake Superior College from the beginning of fall semester 2008 to the end of spring semester 2009.
