A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children since I was 13. I have worked in settings where I was a daycare worker, a nanny, and a substitute teacher. I believe that every child has thier own unique way of learning even though there may be a mainstream way of teaching. I like to see where a child is and then go from there to see what would be the best way to help them learn new things.

I believe that my teaching style is very hands on and easy to follow. I have the ability of simplifying statistical and mathematical procedures into easier, more understandable terms. I am very patient and this allows me to better adapt to a child's specific learning needs and education level. Since high school I've been working with my peers to help clarify subject matter, as that was my favorite method of study. In college I tutored under-classmen in Spanish, chemistry, and political science. Since graduating, I've worked with college freshmen as a writing tutor and with middle school students to teach algebra and pre-algebra. I'm a very strong writer, and I've got a broad background allowing me to tutor in any subject through freshmen year to college.
My method of teaching varies with the subject. A spanish tutor and a chemistry tutor can go about things quite differently.
