IMPROVE READING AND WRITING SCORES IN CLASS AND ON THE ACT.

I have been an AP Literature and Composition teacher as well as Twelfth grade Language Arts instructor for over 16 years. I am acutely aware of the needs of students as it relates to mastering reading and writing skills. I have also taught an ACT Prep course for the past 5 years after extensive training at workshops and conferences. I know the importance of identifying weaknesses in reading, writing, and on standardized tests such as the ACT and directing my instruction to those weaknesses. I am especially skilled at targeting writing weaknesses as it relates to both rhetoric and mechanics as I am a practicing writer myself. My comments on tutoring Poetry : Published works.

I majored in English Literature and Humanities in college before changing majors to Paralegal Studies and minoring in English Literature. Performed duties as an Editorial Assistant in Humanities and in high school annual poetry and creative writing review. Also during my enrollment in a DOD high school my concentration was in Language Arts and Creative Writing. Currently write and perform poetry pieces and sell written songs.
I prefer to demonstrate how to understand content. My tactics are deemed personal modeler as a teaching style. I deliver the content through demonstrating it. I act more as a guide or coach and show students how to do the tasks. Student participation as an important part of my lesson plans. Demonstrators often incorporate different learning styles into lessons.
