Tutored all levels of College Biology in college. Classes tutored include: Wildlife and Fisheries, Wetlands Biology, Marine Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Invertebrate Zoology, Vertebrate Natural History, Biology 101, Biology 102, and Limnology. I have also taken each of these classes, and maintained a 3.8 grade point average in my major. With each of these courses comes both lecture time and lab time, and I am proficient in both areas. I also excelled in field courses, and was hired by the North Carolina Coastal reserve for the Spring of three consecutive years for research.

I graduated with my undergraduate degree in marine biology in 2002 and then worked as a research biologist for two and a half years before returning to school to pursue my master’s degree. I believe that my hands-on scientific experiences combined with my academic background allow me to convey difficult concepts to students. As a researcher and as a student, I have had to put together many written and oral proposals and presentations, so I have the ability to communicate ideas very effectively. I have earned two degrees: a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Biology. I have taken a wide range of courses in biology and have a great deal of knowledge about them all. One of my courses required me to teach in a lab. Through this I was able to gain valuable teaching experience and interact with students as well.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge of biology with others. I am patient and laid back with students, but I also know when to push them to work harder to achieve their goals. A Little Bit About Me...

Because I am a very patient and detail oriented person, I feel it is best to adapt my teaching style to the student's learning style. I would first make that evaluation to determine how best to approach teaching the student. I enjoy using hands-on examples and Powerpoint presentations in teaching. I feel that one-on-one interaction will always help a child gain knowledge of a subject.
I have a BS in Environmental Science with a Chemistry minor. I also have a MS in Environmental/Soil Science. As a NASA scholar and Research Assistant, I taught undergraduate students Soil Science Lab Classes. I have tutored Elementary level reading and writing as a volunteer. I have also tutored Middle School level Math to several students. I am a substitute teacher in Louisiana and I am currently working on my teacher certification.
