I love to make it fun. Theatre (as well as History) should be fun. Learning should be fun. When someone enjoys learning, they want to learn more! So while bringing semi-strict curriculum of topics that must be covered over a course of time, I approach it with the idea that it must be fun, enjoyable, and free-willing. Theatre is a profession, not just a hobby, so I'll help the students understand the importance of theatre, the expectations of directors and designers and actors, as well as how to work as a team player. With history, I'll approach theatre in a matter that will help the student excel in the key facts, and understand the essential ideas and subcategories that follow. I believe that homeschooling and private lessons allow kids and adults to learn and understand their subject matter quicker, more efficiently, and with close guidance. I aim to teach any student like an adult, allowing my classroom/studio to operate like a college level course. I will host critiques, ask in depth questions and have each student develop their own digital portfolio by the end of the course/instruction. I am a recent grad from Stevens Point, starting my own private art teaching business. I have 7 years of professional experience, which includes gallery exhibits, juried shows and the sale of numerous works. I am most adept in oil painting, however I am also skilled in drawing (graphite, ink, charcoal, pastels) and 3 dimensional work (ceramic, metal, wood). I'm not sure what 'Creative Arts' entails, but I am adept in crafts such as crocheting, knitting, sewing, and other creative things. I also have a BA in in Art and Creative Writing, and adept in Digital Art with programs such as Adobe PhotoShop. As well as creating works in multiple medias. I tutored while in college, and I interned at an elementary school in Japan teaching English. I work well with children as well teenagers. I mostly have experience tutoring Japanese, but I have leisurely taught many people on a range of many topics ranging from a short lecture on ancient art to sewing. My teaching style is lax but thorough. I like to encourage the student and build confidence.
