Experience Summary
I have experience in theatrical design (costume and set painting), and performance (drama, musicals, comedies). I also have worked with children as a mentor in KidStage (an after school theatre program) in which I taught theatre skills, games, styles to children between ages 6-10. I also went to school for history, so have experience with writing papers, research projects, and finding crucial historical information for tests and exams.
Teaching Style
I love to make it fun. Theatre (as well as History) should be fun. Learning should be fun. When someone enjoys learning, they want to learn more! So while bringing semi-strict curriculum of topics that must be covered over a course of time, I approach it with the idea that it must be fun, enjoyable, and free-willing. Theatre is a profession, not just a hobby, so I'll help the students understand the importance of theatre, the expectations of directors and designers and actors, as well as how to work as a team player. With history, I'll approach theatre in a matter that will help the student excel in the key facts, and understand the essential ideas and subcategories that follow.
My Hobbies
I love theatre. I'm an actor, designer, singer, painter, director, assistant stage manager, etc. I love theatre and appreciate theatre. In addition to theatre, I love drawing, hiking, camping, being social, spreading respect and dignity to people around me, meeting new people, spending time with families, and going to social events.
