Experienced Educator Available To Tutor

I taught high school English for three years. My students ranged from far below basic to advanced. My students consistently showed improvement in their standardized test scores and over 95% of my students passed the course. Also, Over 95% of my sophomore passed the CAHSEE. In addition to my high school experience, I have been tutoring adult learners for the past three years, becoming the program manager two years ago. I have spent the last three year being a nanny and tutor for kids in a variety of age groups. My comments on tutoring Testing Skills : I have taught this subject at both primary and secondary levels in my school district.

I have worked as a Special Education Instructional Assistant for the past 8 years. I am currently attending school to become a special education teacher. I have experience teaching many different students from various grade levels and have tracked their academic progression. I have ran several reading and math interventions for my school sites for kindergarten through 8th grade.
Interactive modeling of examples, repetition, and simplifying subject matter are key components of my teaching style. Many students have difficulty relating to academic material due the lack being given time to practice example assignments. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Duke University in 2009 with a triple-major in Biomedical Engineering, Economics, and Mathematics. I have tutored in Economics and spent four years mentoring middle-schools students in Engineering as a Techtronics Fellow.
I have never been someone who "just gets it" when it comes to math or science, and so I understand more than many people who pursued degrees in these subjects just how puzzling they can be.
