My teaching style is so passionate, I love opening doors to where students actually grasps the idea of learning and the effectiveness of it. As a young adult I often times relate my learning experience to theirs, in order for the students to see hard work actually pays off. I enjoy the success of watching students receive good grades, and the excitement of feeling accomplished. My experience includes two years of full time teaching at the PreK level. I also have experience working with grade level students through practicums, student teaching, and substitute teaching. I have assisted teachers with middle school students during a summer technical program as well. I currently hold a M.S. in Education specializing at the Elementary grade levels. I also have a B.F.A. in Photography with a minor in Journalism.
My teaching style varies depending on the needs of each student. Because students learn in different ways, I feel it is important to start with a basic teaching method and evolve from there for each individual child and his or her level of learning. My only documented tutoring was with the local elementary school in a program called “Reading Buddies”. I had a syllabus for the children and was rewarded with clear results on both children. It was an after school activity during High School and only lasted for one school year. I remember the feeling of having a result and the satisfaction that only a few minutes spent lasted till the end of the program.
I’m interested in teaching children earth science and molecular biology. During college I studied art also, this allowed me to be strong in diagrams and understanding photosynthesis and other processes in science with great detail. I learned by color and charts and relied on a dry erase board to learn the human body in Anatomy. I could take a mental picture and learn the names clearly.

I will still be employed by hanover County Schools for the 2009-2010 School year.
I work well as a one on one special education aide because my attention is soley on the activities and education of my students. I am a laid back worker, and extremely patient because I find that if I allow myself to get out of shape, then I am not an effective teacher and aide, and my students will see this. I love working with children of all ages. I can say I am patient enough to deal with elementary students being that I've done so before.
