As a student, studying to be an acclaimed teacher, at Niagara University (BA) and University of Buffalo (MA) I have achieved many achomplishements over the years. I have a double major in elementary special education and elementary regular education. I have also earned a Minor in English, as well as gaining comprehension in other subject areas as well; Science, Social Studies, Health, Math, Art, and Music. Since a classroom is filled with students who have different learning styles as described by Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences, I use a variety of ways to teach. Lectures are done through power point presentations, along with worksheets and handouts. Hands-on has been used in anatomy and physiology classes. Adult learners bring a lot of experiences to the classroom, and sharing and discussing brings a different perspective. Role playing helps students to look at a situation for another's point of reference. I tried to get students to determine the best way he/she learned in order to use that style when completing assignments or studying.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love to work with children of any age. I have been volunteering for over 15 years helping wherever and whenever I can to help make the lives of children more enriched. I have two boys of my own (age 10 and 14) and have been successful in helping them achieve the best they can. I have been teaching kids as a substitute for many years and went back to school in my middle 30's to become a teacher. I previously taught foreign students through a grant with Buffalo State Research foundation for 2 yrs and it needed patience due to the language barrier we had to work on in addition to the school work. I saw success in this students who made it todifferent colleges when some of them could not speak English when they first got here.
I always strived to be the best student I can be. I have a bachelors in business and a master diploma in computer Science. I started but have not continued with my MBA due to lack of funds.
