I am someone who understands that not all children learn effectively the same way. I am someone who will sit down with my student and ask them questions regarding how they learn and how they do not learn. Sometimes a student will not know how they learn effectively but they will know what does not work for them. From there I try to tailor a program to suit that student. My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : I have my bachelor's degree in childhood and special education as well as certification in early childhood education. I have my master's degree in literacy education. I am currently a reading teacher in a local school district, working with children in the elementary grades.

My teaching style is based on the gradual release theory, where instruction begins with me demonstrating a skill or strategy, followed by the student practicing the skill with my support, eventually leading to independent use of the skill by the student.
