I have always had a desire to teach and be involved in education. After earning a degree in Broadcasting, I decided to change fields and get into teaching. I earned a CELTA (Certificate in English Teaching to Adults) from Cambridge University in 1999. Upon receiving that certificate I immediately began teaching English to adults. I first worked in an on-site language school environment and then later in a more freelance, corporate environment. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with children and have wanted to be a teacher since I was in the fourth grade. My favorite part about teaching is when I see the "light bulb" go on in a child's mind and there is excitement about learning. I think every child can learn and that children need structure and guidance in the learning process. I also believe that children can do more than what we often think they can so they need to be encouraged to stretch their thinking, to use their imaginations, and to not give up when something is difficult or challenging.

I have learned a graet deal through speaking to high school athletes and their parents about the college recruiting process. I've learned how to relate to the kids on their level and attention spans while still being able to get my message across to them.
