As a UNCP alumnus, I currently hold a BS in Biology. I have tutored peers in the past during my second year at UNCP. Subjects that I am familiar are science and math. I have a lot of experience in the science field. I currently work full-time in a lab using my science degree. As a young child I was diagnosed with dyslexia. I have worked hard to to get my degree and have overcome many challenges. I know that it is possible for all the achieve their goals if they are given the opportunity to be taught in ways which they best learn. I personally had to discover my own learning style. I love learning math and science and I enjoy sharing the same love of learning with my students. I like seeing the look on their face when they really get it! Students requiring tutoring are sometimes in academic distress and have anxiety therefore I have a more easy going and patient style of tutoring than most. I believe I'm an effective tutor because I remember the exact same difficulties and questions I had as a student and can relate to their frustration. A Little Bit About Me...

I learned through visual aid. So, I guess I would lean towards this style of teaching. However, if a student learns better with audio aid then I would be willing to combine the two methods to better educate the student. My goal is to provide the best education possible and to suceed in that is to have great communication and alittle fun doing the work that is expected.
I have not taught anyone or tutored anyone for money. However, I would like to have the oppitunity to be able to tutor children or young adults on their way of the journey of life. I too was tutored going through school and not just once. I attended Sylvin Learning Center every other year since sixth grade. It helped me understand the areas that I didnt and excel in the areas I did. I would like to give thas opportunity to someone else.
