I love working with children. I believe that children tend to learn best through repetition and making the experience fun. I like to work with flashcards and other such methods. I love working with children of all ages and abilities and helping them with academics. I don't believe I have a specific teaching style. During this time I was required to make sure that 30+ students had a clear understanding of both lecture material and the lab material which included complete cat dissection. After I received my bachelors degree in science from Ohio University I went on to receive my Masters in Science from Chatham University in Pittsburgh PA. I have been selected as a peer tutor through Carlow University for Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.
I prefer to begin by having the student describe the current subject matter to the best of his/her abilities to determine a starting point. I have found that having the student talk through the subject matter can be useful in determining his/her strengths and level of understanding. I like to have the student work through some problems they have not been assigned from their book/notes so that they are able to practice and work through some other problems before attempting any assignments. I have also found that it is useful to go over any previous quizzes or tests related to the current subject matter as difficulties are sometimes related to previous work because with these subjects the work tends to build upon itself.

I graduated top 10% of my high school class and went onto medical school overseas as I had moved back to Pakistan my native country. I than returned to the USA and passed the hardest test on the planet which is the ECFMG equivalency exams for doctors. I went into medical research after that and than teaching. The most challenging aspect of teaching comes from the many different styles in which students acquire information. While some students benefit more from a hands-on approach, others are better served by visualizations/illustrations, while still others learn best by repetition of material. A Little Bit About Me...

The purpose of my teaching is to allow every student to succeed. I will try any way possible to reach this goal for every child. Working in the sciences, I feel that inquiry learning is important and hands-on experience is essential. I graduated from IUP with a degree in Biology Education. I am certified in Biology and Middle School Science.
