I have worked previously as an au pair, summer camp counselor (Children's Arts Camp, Theater Pre-Orientation), and reading tutor. I have experience teaching children with various levels of autism and learning disorders. While my primary experience has been with performance arts such as dance, theater, and public speaking, I am also experienced in reading, composition, and creative writing. The key to being a good teacher is being patient. I believe children learn best in a positive and stress-free environment. When a child does good on the work then I praise them and if they make a mistake then I explain to them the error in the homework. When I was a small child, I remember my teacher being patient and helping me along the way. I feel that although children learn in different ways and different paces that being patient with children is a universal and effective teaching style.

I attended Middle Tennessee State University from spring 1993-fall 1997, graduating in Dec. 1997 (B.S. degree). My major is art educ., my minor is secondary educ. My teaching license was in art educ./K-12. I was a member of The Gamma Beta Phi Society, the top 15% of my class. My gpa was 3.2 and I won two scholarships. I did my student teaching at the Lebanon High and at the Las Cassas Elementary Schools in fall 1997. I taught art at Mt. Juliet Elementary School, and taught private adult & children’s art classes at An Invitation to the Dance studio in Murfreesboro and at the Murfreesboro Art League.
