Experienced. Effective. The logical choice.

I have always enjoyed teaching others sharing my love of learning. I find it most effective to use a variety of methods to successfully teach information. Material is best learned when it can be easily understood by the student and has practical applications for everyday life. I am not the type of tutor to just hand out answers to problems. I firmly believe that it is the responsibility of the teacher to find a way to present material so it is understood by the student. Too many schools criticize a child's ability to learn when the child doesn't respond to the school's one method of teaching. I enjoy finding ways to make concepts simple and fun for the child. I love to awaken in my students a fascination for subjects that they believe to be uninteresting or too hard for them.
I am a homeschooling mom of 20 years. I have homeschooled my 6 kids K through 12th grade. Three of my children have graduated my homeschool. I began working with children who were diagnosed with autism my first year of college (I did this for 7 years). I felt a sense of accomplishment as I watched them grow as people. I realized through these experiences that I wanted to help people learn and become accomplished. Later, I decided to student teach in graduate school. I taught three different writing courses over three years, including this past year as a part-time instructor.
