I love teaching and working with children. I find that they are fun to talk to and that each one has a different learning process. I like tutoring better than teaching in a large group, as tutoring allows students to receive one on one attention. My goal is to provide the best education possible in my allotted time periods. I am a firm believer in relating material to real-world examples. I have found that many students are over-whelmed by material and do not see any application for the material, and thus they do not have the desire needed to absorb the material. I strive to make the material fun and break it down to small units so that it is easily absorbed.
I have spent 10 years in college academia resulting in a PhD as my terminal degree. Through my studies, I have acquired an in-depth knowledge of statistics, molecular biology, genetics, ecology, and bioinformatics to complete this degree. During my time in college, I also routinely volunteered as an undergraduate tutor in genetics, statistics, and basic biology. I also taught several labs in ecology.

I have a great joy working with children because most of them are eager to learn. I earned my Associate's Degree in Math Education from Mary Holmes College & went on to pursue my Bachelor's Degree from Mississippi State University. Even while pursuing my degrees, I was a Substitute Teacher for the West Point School District for almost 4 years.
